Calories

Calories are units of energy that the body can use to perform functions, each food source has its own number of calories. The number of calories that should be ingested will vary from person to person. For a healthy exercising adult, the general consensus is that normal body functions burn roughly 1 calorie per kg of our mass per hour. So a body of 75kg burns 75 calories per hour. Thus, in a day, a 75kg body burns 75*24 calories, roughly 1800 calories before exercise. For a regularly exercising adult 75kg, (e.g. a sport player but not professional athlete.) the body burns roughly another 1800 calories during exercise. This brings the total calories needed per day for a 75kg exercising adult up to 3600 calories.
